Dessert-lovers would agree that cookies are one of the most enjoyable treats. Crumbly, buttery, chewy and chocolatey, all at once – cookies are indeed sinful. One of the most popular cookie flavours would be chocolate chip cookies. Pair them with milk or have them as dessert, chocolate chip cookies are a hit across all age groups. Even ace Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone swears by choco chip cookies as her favourite indulgence! The diva has, time and again, confessed her love for baking. Recently, popular baker and blogger Shivesh Bhatia shared the recipe for what he claimed were Deepika Padukone’s favourite chocolate chip cookies. Take a look:

The video of chocolate chip cookies has garnered over 1.7 million views and 127k likes. The baker Shivesh Bhatia said that this recipe is supposedly Deepika Padukone’s favourite chocolate chip cookie. “So while browsing on the internet, I chanced upon this chocolate chip cookie recipe that is apparently Deepika Padukone’s favourite cookie recipe! It looks very interesting so I tried making a batch in my kitchen! They turned out to be so delicious, you really have to try this one,” wrote the baker in the caption of the post.

Here’s The Full Recipe For Chocolate Chip Cookies By Shivesh Bhatia:


  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup castor sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup icing sugar
  • 1 egg + 2 egg yolks
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 + 1/2 cup maida
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 200 gms chocolate chips


  1. Combine butter, icing sugar, castor sugar and brown sugar in a bowl till smooth.
  2. Now add the egg yolks and one egg along with the vanilla essence.
  3. Finally mix in the dry ingredients such as baking powder, baking soda, maida and salt.
  4. Fold in the chocolate chips and let the batter freeze for some time.
  5. Take it out and roll it into small balls. Bake for 12-15 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius. Enjoy!
